Martankers I, S.L. is an independent shipbroking company based in Madrid that has been up-and-running since 1989. We specialise in the transportation of bulk liquid cargoes and liquefied gases.
Our team has extensive experience in the world of maritime business and is always on the lookout for developments on the market, new products, updates of the different fleets and changes in trade lanes.
We are constantly active on the spot market, time-chartering, bare-boat chartering and contracts of affreightment, receiving up-to-date information that allows us to advise our clients on legal, technical and commercial issues.
Martankers was established in 1989 by Isabel Pons and Arnold des Arts, both of whom had vast experience and an in-depth knowledge of the maritime market.
Since its very creation, Martankers has played a critical role in the Spanish ship brokerage market, providing a quality service to its clients and gradually extending its activities. In 2014, a year which also marked the company’s 25th anniversary, Isabel Pons announced her retirement, leaving behind her a legacy of professionalism, honesty and efficiency and handing over the reins to Francisco Pascual and José Antonio Leira.
Our future plans for the company focus on enhancing the quality of our services, increasing the scope of our activities, endeavouring to undergo gradual growth and striving to always keep an open mind which can only work to the advantage of our clients.Back
Since the company’s foundation, we have chiefly centred on providing a reliable service and forming long-lasting relationships with our clients. Efficiency, transparency, cooperation and reliability are the basic mainstays of our business relations. To achieve this, it is necessary to work together as a strong and highly-motivated team.
We have an in-depth knowledge of this field that covers operational, technical and commercial aspects related to the transportation of LNG, LPG (butane and propane) and petrochemical gases (propylene, ethylene and butadiene, among others).
We have extensive experience in the chemical tanker market, a sector we have always considered to be of critical importance. Our team operates with an ample spectrum of products, ranging from the easiest to the most sophisticated chemicals, base oils, biofuel, vegetable oil and acids.
The enormous variety of loaders, products and types of vessel represent a perpetual challenge, which motivates us to closely follow the constant changes in the markets and their regulations.
We provide market coverage for clean petroleum products (gas oil, naphtha, gasoline, kerosene, etc.) and for dirty petroleum products (fuel oil, VGO, LCO, etc.). Our efforts are chiefly focused on offering a bespoke service to suit each client’s needs.
We have achieved, over the years, a deep knowledge of the bitumen market. Thanks to our experience, we can work with all different products that need to be transported at high temperature, like pitch and coal tar.
Dry & Project Cargo
We provide chartering services within the non-container goods (steels, non-ferrous metals, forest products, big bags), breakbulk, heavy lift and ‘’coaster’’dry cargo bulk sectors.
